### Cloud-native Automation Platform — DEUS

Full-time · Backend · 2026
Case study: https://www.diogocardoso.pro/projects/deus

- As the first developer on the project, built the backend foundation for a cloud-native platform that takes manual internal tasks and turns them into reliable, monitored automated workflows.
- Implemented the Go orchestrator, event-driven worker engine, Cosmos DB persistence, Azure Queue messaging, OIDC authentication, and role-based access control.
- Delivered the first practical automation: processing Excel employee-training data, generating individual PDF certificates, and storing the results in Google Drive.

Tech stack: Go, Distributed Systems, Event-driven Architecture, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Queue Storage, Azure Blob Storage, Docker, Terraform, GitHub Actions, OpenTelemetry
Results: 1000+ employees; ~2 h → 3 min to issue a workshop's certificates; 20+ countries/offices
Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals; HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate (in progress)

> "I worked closely with Diogo at DEUS on the AI Automations Platform. As the sole backend developer on the project, he delivered reliable results and showed a strong ability to learn. His positive attitude, receptiveness to feedback, and commitment to continuous improvement made him an important contributor to the successful delivery of the platform's first iteration." — Luís, Backend Engineer (https://www.linkedin.com/in/lu%C3%ADs-cruz-9a5859111/)

### Global EV Charging Platform — Shell

Contract · Full Stack · 2026
Case study: https://www.diogocardoso.pro/projects/shell

- Contractor through DEUS, on Shell's in-house engineering team since its early stages, as it moved from outsourced development to internally built and operated backend systems.
- Built a retention purge service clearing ~82K expired records a day, moved the Admin Portal's validation rules to the backend, and shipped subscription cancellation and renewal flows.
- Worked end-to-end: backend validation, GraphQL schema/client, and the frontend flows that consumed them.

Tech stack: Go, GraphQL, gRPC, PostgreSQL, React, TypeScript, Kubernetes, Helm, Gherkin / BDD, Dynatrace
Results: 1M+ Monthly active users; 3M+ transactions/month; ~82K records purged daily; 24 countries

> "Diogo is the full-stack engineer leading the revamp of Shell’s Admin Portal as part of its EV charging program, where I’m the PO. He brings strong frontend and backend skills, and his UX/UI background gives him a clear sense of how the product should work for its users. The revamp delivers capabilities for Shell’s new subscription model, part of its strategy to grow the customer base across 22+ markets in Europe and North America. Diogo builds these end-to-end, from the user interface to backend logic and integrations. He also thinks beyond the current functionality and has strengthened the existing backend and adapted the new architecture so the portal can keep evolving with the business. What I value most is how deeply Diogo gets involved in shaping complex requirements. When we map business and user flows, he brings the frontend and backend pieces into the discussion early. He spots gaps and technical dependencies and suggests practical approaches, so potential issues are addressed before they reach delivery. Diogo takes ownership of key features and helps others on the team. His ability to connect UX/UI, product requirements and technical implementation is something that really sets him apart, and I highly recommend him." — João, Product Owner (https://www.linkedin.com/in/joaovazquezberti/)

> "I recommend Diogo for any software engineering role. In the time we've worked together, he has consistently demonstrated strong technical depth combined with the adaptability to pick up new tools, frameworks, and problem domains quickly. Diogo never shied away from a challenge outside his comfort zone. What stands out most is the clarity of his communication, particularly in his pull requests, where he takes the time to explain his reasoning, document trade-offs, and make his code easy for others to review and build on. He's a thoughtful engineer, seems like he takes pride in what he does and I'd welcome the opportunity to work with him again." — Divyansh Agarwal, Software Engineer (https://www.linkedin.com/in/divyansh-agarwal1011/)

### AI Language Tutoring App — Talqo

Personal Project · Full Stack · 2026 · In progress
Case study: https://www.diogocardoso.pro/projects/talqo

- Building a voice-first AI language tutor end to end: a signed-in request now goes from the Flutter app through API Gateway and an ALB to a Go service on ECS Fargate backed by PostgreSQL.
- Defined commit, branch and PR conventions once in a shared repo and pulled them into every codebase through git hooks, CI and AI-agent rules.
- Built to stay cheap from the start: CI that fits GitHub's free minutes, a NAT instance on a schedule instead of a managed NAT Gateway, and dev on AWS's free plan.

Tech stack: Go, PostgreSQL, sqlc, Docker, Flutter, Dart, Figma, FVM, Terraform, HCP Terraform, AWS ECS Fargate, AWS RDS, AWS ALB, AWS ECR, AWS API Gateway, AWS Cognito, AWS SES, AWS VPC, AWS EC2, AWS Amplify, GitHub Actions, lefthook, Claude Code
Results: 4 repos sharing one set of rules; 2 app flavors, installable side by side; 11 Terraform modules, each with tests
Certifications: HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate (in progress)

### Euro Coin Collecting App — Coinllector

Personal Project · Full Stack · 2025
Case study: https://www.diogocardoso.pro/projects/coinllector

- Designed and built Coinllector on my own, end to end: product design, UX research, branding, a Flutter app on a local SQLite database, and a companion REST API.
- Audited existing coin-tracking apps, found real gaps for casual collectors, then built the information architecture and visual system from scratch.
- Ran a 30-person beta across Europe, then reworked touch targets, terminology, and defaults based on what real collectors actually struggled with.

Tech stack: Flutter, Dart, Riverpod, GoRouter, SQLite, TypeScript, Express.js, MongoDB, Redis, Figma, Clean Architecture, Product Design, UX Research, Branding
Results: Live on Google Play; 30 beta testers; First app revenue
